University of Lagos television station, UNILAG TV, is expected to begin operation from Thursday, January 17, 2019, on cable TV brand, Startimes.

According to the varsity’s management, UNILAG TV is to commence broadcasting of local, national and international news to viewers across Nigeria on Channel 184.

The announcement was made by the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe.

Ogundipe said since UNILAG pioneered campus radio broadcasting on December 14, 2004, it has been a dream to also run a campus television station.

UNILAG was issued television operational license on November 9, 2017
